Currently an organist at the Church of the Assumption in Falomo, Isa Friday began singing in church at the age of 10. He has since broadened his musical horizons, playing techniques found in classical, contemporary and jazz styles. He has played numerous concerts both home and abroad.
Johnpaul is an accomplished singer and teacher with a wealth of experience in both musical and academic endeavors. Having performed several operas, musicals and
contemporary pieces, JP is widely acknowledged for his fluent command of lyrical techniques, interpretation and singing. He is an active performer and also teaches at MUSON and SPAN Jazz Academy.
David is a young and talented violinist who has made a name for himself in the music industry. He is a member of three orchestras and one string quartet and has also worked with notable local and international musicians. He has acquired great ability on his instrument but also sings in the acapella group STAS and teaches music. David believes music has the power to change lives.
Born in Jos, Nigeria, Fatima started singing in church as a child back in Benin City where she had her primary education. Her earliest influences were from listening to records of Bob Marley, Bonny M, Sony Okosun, King Sunny Ade, Handel’s Messiah and some great gospel singers. She started her career in music at the MUSON School of Music where she obtained a Diploma in Music majoring in Voice. She passed the Diploma in Singing of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) London, exams with distinction. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Music from the University of Lagos graduating with honors.
A member of the MUSON choir since 2006, She has performed several works under the aegis of the choir. These include the yearly MUSON festival; the role of Ruth – Pirate maid – in the “Pirates of Penzance”; role of 3rd Lady in the opera “Magic Flute”; she is a member of the “Vocal Chain” singers that launched in 2015; also an organizer of ‘Season of Celebration’ concert series.
Outside the MUSON Fatima has performed at the Epworth Children Village Carol, Germiston, South Africa in 2012; Woman Rising to celebrate International Women Day, Shell Nigeria Christmas/end of year concert, Nigeria Society for the Blind 60th anniversary and several others.
She was finalist in the 2013 edition of the Sacred Music International Competition (SMIC) held in Rome, Italy. She also participated in the 2016 Music Education Expo held in Hammerstein, London to improve on her teaching skills.
She is currently a choir director at the Church of Assumption, Falomo, Ikoyi and a singing teacher at the Masha Music Academy, Lekki, Lagos.
She loves to mentor younger singers/musicians, organize concerts and consult through her growing outfit – Musica Casa – when not on stage performing.
